The 8000ha Rolfontein Nature Reserve was established in 1970, offering visitors game viewing, hiking, picnic sports and birding.
The nature reserve has been renovated since the beginning of 2012 by Anix Consulting and will re-open in May 2013. An exact date has not been set yet but it is certainly a good time to make a trip to Vanderkloof to view this amazing nature reserve with stunning views over South Africa’s second biggest dam. Various forms of wildlife and bird viewing can be enjoyed throughout the reserve which can be accessed via various hiking trails and newly upgraded roads.
There is also a brand new conference center with amazing views in the heart of the nature reserve.
