What some of our previous guests had to say:
“The best place in 5 years.”
This was the best stay that we have had in the past 5 years. Everything was so clean and comfortable during our stay when we arrived, that my wife cleaned the place like our house before we left. Thank you, thank you, thank you! – Fanie C – Traveling with spouse/partner – November 2013
Friendly prompt reception after advising of our arrival. Clean and neat facilities including carport parking. Nice trail leading to water edge with benches along the way with bird feeders as well. Definitely needs considering a longer stay in future, not only for an overnight stop. – Reg and Anita van Deventer – January 2013

Despite all the negative press regarding accommodation at Vanderkloof, we would like to mention that there are alternative service providers such as the accommodation at Rhino Manor. We found that the accommodation was spacious, immaculate and well and completely equipped with quality furniture and equipment. The patio was a delight and the barbeque facilities excellent.
The proprietor, Johan, went out of his way to make our stay a memorable and pleasant experience.
The boat trip was more than we ever imagined – Johan’s son-in-law and daughter handled the boat with great expertise and brought it into such positions that made it possible to take very good photos of the fauna and flora as well of the dam and environment.
This was a trip down memory lane, Geraldine’s late husband, Alan Davies, was the Department of Water Affairs’ Resident Engineer from 1973 to 1977.
Johan had great knowledge as well as empathy with our memories and tales of life at the dam during construction and also arranged for our visit to the Eskom Power Station. Thanks to Eskom’s staff for taking us on a guided tour.
We also met with Skillie (author of the historical journal of Vanderkloof) who also showed us the new sights and introduced us to some of the permanent residents at Vanderkloof. She also helped to make this a most memorable visit.
The shops cater for the daily needs of the tourist, and the meat and wors are top quality.
We definitely recommend Rhino Manor to all who wish to visit the Dam. – October 2014
